Valentine's Day Pop-Up Cards

Are you looking for new writing ideas for your students? These pop-up cards may be what you are looking for! This set of Valentine pop-up cards are perfect for your writing center, or possibly a whole group activity. Students color the pop-up card, add the pop-up piece, and then write a sweet Valentine note to someone they love! Here are some examples from the Valentine's set. You can let your kiddos create one of them, or all of them. 💗

Be My Valentine

Valentine With Love

I Love You

Wild About You

Here is how you make them! Students color the Valentine card which was printed on cardstock, and color the cut out piece which will pop-up.

Students will cut two slits as shown. I have added dotted lines for them to follow. The slits are about an inch long.

Students unfold the card.

They turn the card over, and use their fingers to push the tagboard as shown.

When students open the card back up, it will have a little pop-up piece.

Students glue the pop-up piece onto the pop-up they created. They then write their Valentine note!
