7 Shape Songs

Do your students love to sing? Most young students love to sing, and songs are a perfect way to teach math concepts! These shape songs were created for my kindergarten classroom, but they would definitely work for preschool or first grade also. You can write these songs on chart paper and display them in your classroom, or you can grab these shape songs in printable form in my Teachers Pay Teachers shop. Feel free to use them in your classroom or at home. I hope your kids love them!

February Math Activities for Kindergarten

A few years ago, my elementary school adopted a new math series (again!). After using the math series for a few weeks, I decided that I wasn't a fan. It wasn't very kindergarten friendly, with pages to rip out and not to mention it had a very boring and bland layout. Although I was still required to use the math series, I decided that I needed something to supplement the instruction to give my kinders a little more excitement. They needed a little more hands on, and a little more simple and kindergarten friendly. With this in mind, I created a series of math notebooks for each month of Kindergarten. These math notebooks make the perfect supplement, and they provide the kiddos with hands-on activities which they love! Each math notebook has one activity for each day of the month. These activities could be used for morning work, guided math, or even math homework for the littles. The activities only take a few minutes, which is perfect for kinders with a small attention span. Here are a few of the activities in my February Math Notebook. If you like this set, you may also like all of the other months. I have them in a bundle! The activities get a little more difficult as the school year continues, in order to keep the kiddos engaged.

This February Math Notebook for Kindergarten includes counting, making 10, subtraction, number writing to 50, addition, counting by 10's, measuring, and more!

Valentine's Day Pop-Up Cards

Are you looking for new writing ideas for your students? These pop-up cards may be what you are looking for! This set of Valentine pop-up cards are perfect for your writing center, or possibly a whole group activity. Students color the pop-up card, add the pop-up piece, and then write a sweet Valentine note to someone they love! Here are some examples from the Valentine's set. You can let your kiddos create one of them, or all of them. 💗

Be My Valentine

Valentine With Love

I Love You

Wild About You

Here is how you make them! Students color the Valentine card which was printed on cardstock, and color the cut out piece which will pop-up.

Students will cut two slits as shown. I have added dotted lines for them to follow. The slits are about an inch long.

Students unfold the card.

They turn the card over, and use their fingers to push the tagboard as shown.

When students open the card back up, it will have a little pop-up piece.

Students glue the pop-up piece onto the pop-up they created. They then write their Valentine note!
